The NRA wants to show that women love guns, too

Apparently there's been an increase in female support of the NRA lately, and they're really trying to bank on these stats. Their new website shows profiles of "armed and fabulous" women who tote their guns proudly. A video on the site includes testimonials about guns by people such as Natalie Foster who claims "authorities do not understand what it is like to be a woman who needs protection from an abusive ex-spouse."

On the same token, some gun sales are now being consciously aimed toward women. The article notes:

"Saleswomen for Urban Moxy - which describes itself as "loaded with style" - demonstrate how a gun can slide into a purse's lockable, neoprene-lined pocket."

Interesting. I'm all for breaking down gender roles, but I have a feeling just from reading the way they're pandering to women with these slogans about being "fabulous" and "stylish" that any further attempts are going to be pretty sexist.
